Day 4 - The Death March : Another busy day. Four of us volumteered to go on what the guide called a fast walk and which we started calling the death march after the first three miles slogging through mud. We then had lunch with a local family in the village of Monte Alegre, paddled dugout canoes on the San Regis , and went on a night excursion on the Pucate River.

Days 6 - Nauta, Iquitos, and back to the USA : We visited Nauta - the earliest colonial settlement on the Amazon. Then back to Iquitos to fly to the USA with a day's stopover in Lima. We covered 400 miles on the river, 150 miles on the skiff, and about 10,000 years in time.
