Another busy day. Four of us volumteered to go on what the guide called a fast walk and which we started calling the death march after the first three miles slogging through mud. We then had lunch with a local family in the village of Monte Alegre, paddled dugout canoes on the San Regis , and went on a night excursion on the Pucate River.
We began the day with a symbolic tree planting ceremony. The company that operates the river boat is owned by the ex-minister of tourism. They seemed to be genuinely ecologically minded.
